Social Studies:
History Alive! The Ancient World
In social studies this year we will be using the History Alive! program called The Ancient World. Student textbooks will remain at school but students will have access to the Teacher's Curriculum Institute website, teachtci.com, where they can access class materials. Students received a print out with their user name and password, it is the same login information they use for logging into the computers at school. The print out looks like the image below.
Once students log in to the website they will find a page that looks like the image below. Using the tabs at the top of the page students can select the chapter they are currently working on and read the text. There is a read aloud option available if that is helpful to your student. Students can access the Interactive Student Notebook online as well. In addition to these features, each chapter includes a Reading Challenge, a game to help students check their knowledge and understanding of the chapter. There are also glossary cards to assist students with the vocabulary for that chapter.
